The three-wheeled Can-Am Spyder gets the greenlight for local use Friday, April 10, 2009 [1] Chester Ngo, the MD of Welly Advance Bikers (below) and Rajpall Singh are thrilled with the response to the Can-Am Spyder. THE stunning BRP Can-Am Spyder has finally hit Malaysian roads, following three agonising months of waiting for the Ministry of Transportation to give the approval for it to be registered. Apparently, the delay was caused by them trying to figure out what to classify the Spyder, which is made by Canada’s Bombardier Recreational Products (BRP). It’s now categorised as a three-wheeled superbike. WBC C.A. Spyder (M) Sdn Bhd launched the Spyder earlier this week in front of BRp presidents and future Spyder owners. First previewed here in October last year, the Spyder is an unusual combination of a jetski, a snowmobile and a motorcycle. Despite its futuristic design and huge size compared to other superbikes, everyday practicality is not an issue. It still fits into motorcycle lanes at toll booths along major highways, for instance. A spacious compartment in front provides storage space for a helmet and other equipment. |
